In a certain limited number of cases specially set Papers may be chromographed ; in

such cases the charge will be 10s, for a two hours' Paper.

In the case of Papers (other than Local Examination Papers) for which more than two hours and less than three hours are allowed to the Examinees, the charges, both for setting and for looking over, will be fifty per cent higher.

VIVA VOCE. For each day (of six hours) that one Examiner is employed in a viva voce Examination the charge will be £2 55 od.

[N.B.-As a rule the Delegates cannot send an Examiner from a distance for a less charge than £2 58. Od.]

5. INSPECTIONAL PAPERS.

The answers--excluding those to Papers set in the Local Examination-may be looked over and marked in the first instance by the Masters, and afterwards inspected and reported on by the Examiners. The charge for inspecting and reporting upon such answers will be at the rate of 15s. per 100 Exercises; but when a Paper so inspected is taken by less than twenty boys, the number will be reckoned as twenty.

6. EXAMINERS' EXPENSES,

The travelling and hotel expenses of Examiners who are required to visit the School are defrayed by the School authorities. Such payment should in all cases be made direct to the Examiners, and not under any circumstances to the Delegacy.

7. MARKS AND REPORTS,

The Examiners,

who should receive from the School authorities, at least four days before the beginning of the Examination, (1) the names of the Candidates arranged in classes, (2) the Index Numbers of all School Candidates who are also Local Candidates,

will send the marks direct to the School, and will report to the Delegacy on the work which has been submitted to them. The Delegates will then report to the School on the whole Examination. [An adequate interval should be allowed for the marking of the Exercises and for the preparation of the Report and its consideration by the Delegates.]

The Secretary to the Delegacy of Local Examinations is prepared to furnish Heads of Schools with forms of application for a School Examination. Such forms should be returned to him at least three months before the beginning of such Examination.

N.B.-The Delegates are also prepared to undertake the Inspection of Schools. The Regulations may be obtained from the Secretary to the Delegacy, Local Examinations Offices, Oxford.
